Local Policing

Representatives from the KRRA regularly attend the quarterly meetings hosted by the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT). The SNT comprises Metropolitan Police officers dedicated to serving our community, with officers stationed in the Queen’s Park Ward (encompassing Kensal Rise and Queens Park) and supported by additional officers from the wider area.

The topics of discussion are largely data-driven, and as a result, policing priorities for the upcoming quarter are determined.

Outlined below are the current priorities for neighborhood policing across the Queens Park Ward issued on 18 April 2024:

Focus Areas

  • Robbery prevention along Chamberlayne Road
  • Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG)

Key Issues

  • High incidence of robberies targeting school-age victims
  • Peak occurrence: 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday
  • Location: Chamberlayne Road area, particularly near Queens Park Community School
  • Common targets: Mobile phones, trainers, air pods, watches, and jewelry

Action Plan

  • Increased uniformed patrol presence during peak hours
  • Partnership with local schools and community members
  • Implementation of Street Watch scheme
  • Establishment of ‘Safer Space/Haven’ initiative
  • Community volunteer engagement for visible deterrence
