Chamberlayne Road’s heavy traffic creates significant chaos for local residents, causing constant disruption and very poor wellbeing conditions. Cyclists and pedestrians face perilous conditions daily.
Chamberlayne Road’s official road classification is minor – intended for local traffic only.
Chamberlayne Road is a 0.9 mile long narrow single carriageway cutting through the heart of the small neighbourhood of Kensal Rise.
Yet TfL operates over 11,500 diesel buses weekly on Chamberlayne and circa 90,000 vehicles use it monthly.

The proposal is for a Traffic Management Scheme to operate during the morning and evening rush hours on Chamberlayne and Salusbury roads. It would reduce congestion, improve overall traffic flow, improve air quality, and help to calm traffic by encouraging drivers to maintain safe speeds along Chamberlayne Road.
